Offering Free Classes to Boys and Girls Club Loveland
As part of our commitment to making
a difference in the communities we live in, the Korean Academy of
Taekwondo has begun offering a free weekly class to children in the
Boys and Girls Club Facility in Loveland. Instructor Scott
Granger teaches children "Bully Defense", basic Taekwondo techniques,
and grappling techniques. Korean Academy of Taekwondo strives to
make martial arts available to a much broader group of people.
This is one of the ways KAT is making this happen.

Karate Kid Demo Successful for
Academy and for Boys and Girls Club!
The Korean Academy of Taekwondo
North performed a weekend demonstration to promote the new release of
the Karate Kid and to raise support for the local Boys and Girls Club
of Larimer County. Thanks to the generosity of the people living
in Northern Colorado, we were able to raise nearly $400 for the Larimer
County Division. We also had the opportunity to invite more than
30 people into our school for a low cost 1 month trial. Many of
which have decided to become students at the school.

Airbender
Demo and fundraiser for the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer County
A second demonstration 1 month later
has also proven to be successful for the Boys and Girls Club of Larimer
County. During the course of 1 1/2 days, we were able to raise
another $112 for this cause and greet many people in the area.
Once again, much thanks goes to the people living in Northern
Colorado for understanding the service provided by the Boys and Girls
Club and supporting their efforts.

Korean
Academy of Taekwondo North Successful at State Team Trials
The Korean Academy of Taekwondo had
3 members qualify to participate in the State Team Trials this year.
All three came back with 1st place! This is a prestigious
honor for the competitors and the school. These fighters
represent the State of Colorado as the best of the best in the Black
Belt division for Colorado. Each of these competitors will be
traveling to the Rocky Mountain Open next month to compete which
includes the trials for the Pan Am games as well. If these
fighters place in this tournament, they have the opportunity to go to
Las Vegas for the U.S. Open. The U.S. Open is arguably the most
difficult tournament in the world because it draws competitors from
nearly every country.
Sarah Mast 2nd degree, Tyler Payne
2nd degree, and Master Kamil each gathered in 1st place at this
tournament. Best of luck and steady preparation for those
tournaments that are coming in the near future.
